Getting here:

Car: Here are the estimated hours you expect to drive to Philadelphia:
  • DC: 2.5 hours
  • NYC: 2 hours
  • Harrisburg: 2 hours
  • Pittsburgh: 4.5 hours
  • Cleveland: 7 hours
  • Boston: 6 hours


Plane: The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is located just south of Center City Philadelphia. Visit the PHL site for more information.

  • Septa Regional Rail R1 train: a fixed fare of $7. Runs between airport and Center City every 30 minutes, 5am - midnight.

  • Taxi: a flat rate of $25 from the airport to Center City.
Bus:
  • Chinatown Bus - the service runs between NYC, Phila and DC (and some companies run from Boston). It will take you to 11th and Arch St. in Center City.
  • Greyhound

Train: Amtrak



Getting Around Once You are Here:


Car: Four Bridges (Ben Franklin Bridge, Walt Whitman Bridge, Betsy Ross Bridge and Commodore Barry Bridge) connect between southern NJ and Metro Phila. The toll is $3 to get into PA and no toll is charged to get into NJ.

Subway and Bus:

  • SEPTA operates the subway systems in the downtown area as well as the regional rails in the suburbs. All regional rails run through Center City.
  • NJ Transit operates the bus service between Southern NJ and Center City Phila.
  • PATCO operates the speedline train between Southern NJ and Center City Phila.

Parking, Center City Area: Street parking - be sure to read the parking sign for hours and restrictions when you find a metered parking spot. Garage parking rate is between $15 and $20.
